CitiPower / Powercor

CitiPower and Powercor have partnered with Landcare Australia to financially support on-ground conservation projects and events throughout Victoria since 2003. This long-standing partnership enables the Landcare movement to continue their work for the benefit of the broader community.

CitiPower and Powercor have developed environmental policies and practices to protect the communities in which they operate and see their partnership with Landcare Australia as a way to enhance the environmental, social and economic prosperity within all their network area communities.

Landcare Australia works with CitiPower and Powercor to develop a meaningful community investment strategy annually. This sees Landcare Australia undertake the following activities;

• Liaise with Landcare groups to find suitable projects
• Oversee Landcare activity associated with these projects
• Manage all financial transactions, reporting and auditing
• Collate all data for reporting requirements (on a quarterly basis)
• Create case study information to use in promotional activity

Over the last eight years this ongoing partnership development has seen CitiPower and Powercor support a range of interesting Landcare activity including support of;

• a range of projects including wildlife breeding programs, indigenous nurseries, soil carbon fixing projects, composting programs and numerous land rehabilitation and revegetation projects
• a range of regional Landcare awards and festivals
• the Victorian State Landcare Awards
• individual school environmental projects through the Junior Landcare Grants program
