Leighton Holdings
Leighton Holdings, Australia’s largest project development and contracting group, has proudly supported Landcare Australia since 1997. The partnership has provided funding to local Landcare groups to carry out practical solutions on pressing environmental issues.
The partnership began with a focus on water quality and specifically a project within Sydney Harbour. Since 2001 Leighton Holdings have supported the “salinity assault” (dry land salinity) theme with projects carried out in localities such as Yass (NSW), Perth (WA), Lower Burdekin (QLD), Singleton (NSW) and Kalgoorlie (WA). To date nineteen sites across Australia have benefited from Leighton Holdings sponsorship.
The partnership was celebrated in 2010 and 2011 with Leighton Holdings sponsoring the State and National Landcare Awards with support extending towards the “Indigenous Landcare” category.
