MobileMuster has been supporting Landcare Australia through the “Old Phone More Trees Campaign” since 2007. The initiative which celebrates World Environment Day not only helps to take old mobile phones and accessories out of landfill but to date have helped Landcare groups plant 250,000 trees.
The “Old Phone More Trees Campaign” was launched on World Environment Day 5 June and ran to 30 September 2011. MobileMuster aims to collect 250,000 handsets and will provide 25 grants of $2,000 each to Landcare and Coastcare groups around Australia to plant more trees and repair our precious coastal environment.
The grants will enable 25 Landcare and Coastcare groups to maintain and protect our coastline through dune restoration, revegetation, weed management and the protection of vital coastal habitats.
