Coles Junior Landcare photo competition draws to a close
March marked the 1000th Coles Junior Landcare Garden Grant milestone and to celebrate Coles has launched a nature photography competition open to children from schools who have previously received a Coles Junior Landcare garden grant.
Time is running out for students to upload their photos to go into the running to win a range of great prizes thanks to Coles, Junior Landcare and Australian Geographic.
The competition encourages participants to photograph their favourite thing in the garden and upload the snapshot to the www.1000gardens.com.au website for judging before 1 May.
If you haven’t already voted for your favourite photo, be sure to visit the website before 1 May and help judge the People’s Choice category for yourself! All entries can be viewed by the general public and also voted for by visiting the competition website.
Schools, kindergartens, day care centres and youth groups looking to start their own garden program can apply for a Coles Junior Landcare School Garden Grant by registering with Junior Landcare. Visit www.juniorlandcare.com.au or www.coles.com.au for more information.
About the Coles Junior Landcare Program
Coles support the Junior Landcare program with School Garden Grants of $1,000; funds are raised through the sale of reusable bags in Coles stores. Participating school groups include primary and secondary schools, youth groups, daycare centres and kindergartens.
The Coles Junior Landcare grant program helps schools establish gardens in their school grounds or community, such as bush tucker gardens, water wise gardens or veggie gardens. This encourages students to learn about the environment through “outdoor learning”.
