It is estimated there are more than 400 grower groups servicing around half of Australia’s farmers. Farming Ahead 2010 Conference will be a must for grower group members, their representatives and organisations who rely on grower groups as an information pathway to farmers. The conference recognises the extremely important role grower groups play in extension and knowledge transfer.
Together with APEN, industry sponsors and grower groups, Kondinin Group has built a lively, highly relevant and practical conference program for farming systems, grower groups and research and extension organisations that seek to use grower groups for adoption of innovation and research outcomes. Â Â Key sessions will deal with:
- Getting the right research and development and extension model to ensure the international competitiveness of Australian agriculture.
- Current and future extension strategies of the Research and Development Corporations.
- The role of grower groups in Australian agricultural extension.
- Innovative ideas to improve the impact of grower groups.
- Opportunities, challenges and practical options for farmers and grower groups dealing with climate change.
A key feature of the Farming Ahead 2010 Conference will be the opportunity to network with a wide range of grower group representatives from a cross section of Australian agricultural industries. Delegates are expected from the grain, cotton, sugar, rice, horticulture, dairy and livestock sectors. This will enable cross fertilization of knowledge transfer strategies and innovations that work well that may be applicable to other groups. Delegates will also be present from a diverse range of agribusiness and research, development and extension organisations.
Everything is set for a successful conference but we need your help to make it an outstanding success with your attendance.
