Funding Opportunities:

Caring for Our Coasts 2010-2012 Projects

The state-wide “Caring for our Coast” project is now open within the Northern Rivers Region and Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are being sort for 2010-12 projects.

Projects must be large-scale ($20,000 to $50,000) and must engage local community organisations in coastal and marine projects.

Projects must also address at least one other primary target:
1. on-ground works to control and reduce the extent and impact of  weeds of national significance (WoNS);
2. on-ground management works to reduce the impact of critical threats to Littoral Rainforest with Coastal Vine Thickets, and may address a number of other capacity building targets to support primary works.

EOIs must be received by our Coffs Harbour office by 4pm Friday 19th November 2010.

Implementation of best-practice marine resource use

Project number NR-IS10-11-A-6
This project will support the Northern Rivers community to implement best-practice sustainable near-shore coastal resource to reduce local stresses on near-shore coastal ecosystems through one or more of the following activities:

1. Developing, revising or enhancing marine BPGs
2. Effectively communicating BPGs to marine resource users
3. Increasing the capacity of and engaging marine resource users to implement BPGs
