Peats Ridge Festival December 29th to January 1st

Peats Ridge Festival, held in the beautiful Glenworth Valley an hour north of Sydney, will return in 2010 to bring in the New Year. NSW’s largest camping festival of the season, the three day event has become a major event on the annual calendar.

A family friendly festival, known for it’s intimate vibe, Peats Ridge features 10 stages filled to the brim with amazing music, arts performance and exhibitions, a focus on sustainable practices and education, a dedicated children’s festival, workshops, markets and much more. Last years festival saw over 10,000 patrons attend the event. With a stellar line up all ten stages were alive with energy and excitement, for all three days.

Peats Ridge has proven to be world class in entertainment, experience and education. Recognized as one of the world’s leading sustainable events, the Festival is a winner of numerous national and international awards for environmental sustainability.

Festival Director, Matt Grant says of this years Festival:

“For the 2010 Festival we’re going to focus on building on our winning formula and delivering a higher class festival in terms of our patrons’ experience. There’ll be a top lineup of music – lots of bands you know and some for you to discover, an extensive and interactive arts program and of course the experience of camping in the beautiful Glenworth Valley. It’s really a chance to unwind, get a bit silly and imagine what the world would be like were it a perfect place… Which it is down in the valley.”

This years musical line up hosts over 130 artists, including; Angus & Julia Stone, Trentemøller (Live) [DENMARK], Built to Spill [USA], Freestylers [UK], Kate Miller-Heidke, Shout Out Louds [SWEDEN], The Dynamites Featuring Charles Walker [USA], Born Ruffians [CAN], Lightspeed Champion [UK], PVT, Washington, Cloud Control, The Audrey’s, The Break and many more.

A highlight of Peats Ridge for all festival goers is the provocative and tantalising arts program. The 2010 line up is set to be our biggest arts program to date. An exuberant, bold and captivating concoction of installations and performance art, theatre, dance, cabaret, theatre, roving performers, comedy, acrobatics, visual displays, installations and much, much more, will spread across 5 stages that wind along the riverbank.

Held over New Years, from December 29th to January 1st, in the luscious Glenworth Valley NSW, Peats Ridge 2010 is sure to amaze and inspire. Encompassing music, art, sustainability and culture the Festival is a wealth of fresh and innovative creativity.
