Summer by the Sea 2011 (VICTORIA)

Make the most of your coast with Summer by the Sea 2011, from 3 – 23 January!

Get ready to join in and celebrate Victoria’s coast in the 17th annual Summer by the Sea festival. There is something for everyone at January’s festival with 300 free events available all along the coast. Summer by the Sea 2011 runs from 3 – 23 January.

Summer by the Sea provides an opportunity to discover and appreciate the natural wonders of Victoria’s coastal and marine environments. The program promotes respect for the coast, environmental stewardship and participation in coastal conservation.

Activities include:

  • guided walks and rockpool rambles
  • snorkel safaris
  • kayak and boat tours
  • geology adventures
  • bird watching

Participants can also meet the Maremma dogs who guard Little Penguins, try volunteering for a day and get hands on with marine monitoring.

Summer by the Sea is run by DSE’s Coast Action/Coastcare program, with the support of volunteers and local experts.
