Volunteers Wanted – Adelaide

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT THE ADELAIDE HILLS NATURAL RESOURCE CENTRE

There are a variety of tasks and skills required at the NRC to improve and build on the services that we offer to the community. Some positions are short term while others are continuous and some can be combined with the front desk duties.

An interest in the environment and/or the local community is an asset.

1.       FRONT DESK/CUSTOMER SERVICE 4 hrs per week/fortnight.

Hours: 9am -1pm or 1pm -5pm.  Tues- Thurs.

Light office duties including:

  • Answering telephone and personal customer enquiries.
  • Updating files

A friendly manner and a willingness to learn is all you need.  Basic computer skills will be handy but you can also learn on the job. Multiple positions are available. Join with a friend and work together.

2.       WEB SITE UPDATE Approx 1 day per month.

  • Responsible for updating new information onto the website.

Computer and web page skills essential.

3.       EVENT SUPPORT 1-2 days per month. Some evening work included.

  • Assist with planning and booking speakers for seminars.
  • Design flyers and promotional material.
  • Assist in event management.

Good organization and communication skills an advantage.

4.       BUILDING & GROUNDS MAINTENANCE 1-4 days per month.

  • Handypersons to assist with general light gardening or internal maintenance work.

General good health and handy skills required.

5.       DATA ENTRY/ BASIC ACCOUNTING 1 day per month

  • Establishing and/or updating data bases and files.
  1. Library. ½  day per week. We have a small selection of books that we want to be able to share with the community. Are you super organized yet flexible to help us establish and maintain a lending system that meets our needs? This is a challenge that will give you great satisfaction.
